I'm researching the Moses COOLEY family. Moses and Ellen RYAN COOLEY came to Daviess Co. MO. sometime between 1875 and l878. They had a son, Avery, born in Pattonsburg, Daviess Co. MO. on 30 May 1878. It is believed that James, Moses brother, his wife and child came with them and settled close by. Moses was a teamster. Ellen obtained a divorce from Moses and it is on file in Daviess Co. MO. Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated.

My father, Leo BISSELL, was born at Coffey, May 2,1892, perhaps at the home of an aunt,BINNEY. Two yrs later, the Bissell family went to the Indian Terr.(OK). Dad's parents, Luther and Elizabeth BINNEY Bissell left Macoupin Co., Ill to go to MO., date unknown. Were they in Daviess long enough before 1892 for his brothers to attend school or to leave some other mark? I don't believe that my Binney cousins now in or near Gallatin have the info.

I'm a TYE who has just discovered a Daviess County connection. Unfortunately, another Daviess County Tye researcher, Linda (email- lindao@ivic.net) has changed her email address). Looking for any information on what brought the family of Henry Harrison Tye (and when) from Whitly County, KY, to Daviess County by 1860. The 1860 census for Gallatin Post Office, Jackson Township, Daviess County, lists: Henry H. Tye age 37 occupation: Farmer Susan 35 Sarah C. 17 William 15 Henry 13 Lucy 11 Pallas L. 10 Franklin J. 5 Mary A. 3 William Tye 15 Pallas L. Tye was my g-grandfather. I know very little about him or his immediate family. I have a lot of information on the Tyes back in Whitley County, but I don't know how (or why) Pallas and his family moved from Whitley County to Daviess County, or what happened to anybody else in his family. The next fact I know about Pallas is that he married Margaret Angela Harmon (b. 1869, Louisville, KY) in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1884. Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone have data related to the following Prindles? James H. Prindle: born in October 1854 in Kentucky. He married Sarah (--?--) before 1880 at Coffey, Missouri. He later married Dorothy Adams, daughter of Alexander Green Adams and Margaret Patricia Farrington, in 1892 at Coffey, MO. He was a store clerk in 1900 at Coffey. Missouri. (All this from census data). Preston G. Prindle: son of James H. and Sarah Prindle, born on 19 October 1889 at near Coffey, Missouri. He died in July 1971 at Mount Sterling, Illinois, at age 81, (according to the Social Security Death Index). Vadah Prindle: daughter of James H. and Dorothy Adams Prindle, born on 6 April 1895 at Coffey, Missouri. She married (--?--) Swint, son of Jacob C. Swint and Laura B. (--?--), (a guess based on Swint tombstones), in 1914. Margaret Adams' 1939 obituary says Vadah Swint and daughter Shirley, attended from Kansas City. She died in March 1977 at Shawnee Mission, Johnson County, Kansas, at age 81(according to the Social Security Death Index). Any other descendents of James H. and Dorothy Adams Prindle Shirley Swint: Daughter of Vadah Prindle Swint, born circa 1916. (This is all I know about her. But there is no Shirley Swint in the 1996 SSDI. If alive, she is 82 in 1998).
