Looking for the burial site of Nancy (SCOTT) HALSEY, wife of Eli HALSEY, daughter of Alexander SCOTT. Nancy was born in TN on 5/20/1819. She was a life-long resident of DeWitt County, IL. Following Eli's death, in DeWitt County on 1/19/1892, she traveled to Daviess County to join her father and siblings. Alexander and siblings are buried in Old Scotland Cemetery. There is also a Nancy (TROXEL) HALSEY, wife of William, also from DeWitt County, IL, buried in Old Scotland Cemetery. Nancy HALSEY would have died around 1900. Any information would be helpful.

William and Elizabeth BRUMFIELD, listed on the 1860 census in Daviess County, MO. William was a Captain in the Civil War with the Union Army, and was reported as killed during that war. I would like to know the regiment he was in, what battle he died in, if possible, and where he would have been buried. His wife, Elizabeth was said to have remarried later on to a man by the name of HOBBS. (first name unknown) Any information as to the man she married, and what became of her would be much appreciated. William and Elizabeth had 7 children. Mary K., Sarah, John, Dinah, James, William Jr, and Charles Worth Sherman Brumfield. Any information on what happened to the children would be very helpful. Thank you.

Just an update that might be added to my CUBBERLEY query. Charles Cubberley did also spell his name Cubberly. He had four children by his first wife (name?), who were John, Sue, Albert, and Ida. John designed the first church in the United states that had a sloping floor down to the front like a theatre does, and it was supposedly still standing in Gallatin in 1980. I don't know if it still is.

Any help would be most appreciated.

William Elizabeth BRUMFIELD and family, were living in Daviess Co. MO in 1860 according to the census. William was a Captain in the EEM 43rd Missouri Infantry, F Company, during the Civil War, under Major Samuel P. Cox, commander of militia of Daviess and Ray Counties. I need to find out his date of death if possible. Any information will be much appreciated. Thank You.

William BRUMFIELD, of Daviess Co. MO, fought in the Civil War, and was in the 43rd Missouri Infantry. He was Captain of F Company. Word has it that he died during the war, but I need verification of that. He is buried in Old Scotland Cemetery, in Daviess Co. MO. There is not date of death on the tombstone, just the listing of the regiment and company he was in during the war. Would still like to know his date of death and where to look for a roster of his regiment and/or F Company of that regiment. I'd be much obliged for any help in this matter. Thank you.
