Am looking for birth records of Martha Luretta CURTIS, born 01/15/1892 in Gallatin,MO. Her parents were Charley and Ann Curtis. Had sister, Margaret "Mag" Curtis, brothers Harve, Henry, Arnold and Charles.Also looking for records concerning her parents that might lead me to their birth and death places. DUNCAN, George W. (?Washinton): George W. is a brother to my GGGGrandfather, Edmund/Edmond Duncan, and is purported to have lived in Daviess County after the Cherokees moved west of the Mississippi. He married Elizabeth (Cartwright or Mounce), and is proving very elusive, all help appreciated. Will share what I have.

Looking for information on members of the LEDGERWOOD family, most of whom married in Clay County. First I'm looking for info on John LEDGERWOOD b. ? (prob. VA?); m. Eleanor/Ellen NEWMAN 25 Aug 1793 in Greene Co., TN and came to Buchanan County in the early days. He may be the father of Joseph LEDGERWOOD b. abt 1787 in East Tenn. who m. Rachel MURRAY in TN, and appears in the DAviess Co. 1850 Census. Other possible siblings or cousins to Joseph: Margaret who m. Thomas STANTON 8 Feb 1827 in Clay Co. In Nodaway, Andrew Co. 1850 Census as a widow b. in 1810 in TN; Rebecca b. 1820 who m. Casey BOWEN 25 Jun 1840 in Clay County, MO; John Jr. who m. Matilda GEORGE 19 Mar 1829; Sarah who m. Hiram BOND/BAND in Clay Co. MO and appears in the 1850 Daviess Co. Census; and Mary who m. Hanson COURTNEY. The original John above supposedly died abt. 1872 in Buchanan Co. Thanks.

BOWZER, Absalum B. b. 1824 in Ohio wife Mary C. BLIZZARD b. Oct 1828 in White Co. ILL. married in Daviess Co. MO. Jul 7, 1861. I need any information on his or her mother father and siblings. She died in Daviess Co. MO Feb. 14, 1923. Would like to know where she is buried. I would like to hear from anyone researching this family.

Their children are: Thomas b. 1829, William b. 1831, James b. 1836, Robert b. 1839, John b.1841, Preston b.1845, Mary Ellen b. 1847, George b. 1848, Milton Filmore B. 1848. Seeking information on Washington Warren JOYCE, b. 1824 or 1832 in North Carolina, married Sarah B. MCKIBBON, b. 1844 in Columbus, Ohio. Children were Robert Johnson JOYCE, James Henry JOYCE, Cornelia JOYCE, George K. JOYCE, and Mary Maude JOYCE. The children were all born in Missouri. References sometimes list Daviess County and sometimes Harrison, County. I am seeking the names of the parents of W. W. Joyce and Sarah McKibbon. They are supposedly listed on page 476 of Wannamaker History (which I have not yet seen).

Looking for information on the Turner's that were in the Pattonsburg, area around 1910. Had a son named John Ross TURNER. My father-in law is John Ross TURNER Jr. It's possible their son was born in Jackson County Missouri, but we heard the parents were from Pattonsburg. Any info would be appreciated.

Seek info on Wes HIGGINS. He was born in TN m. Sarah Elizabeth ARMSTRONG, also b. in TN. They appear on 1880 census of Daviess Co. ages 24 20 w/ son Logan E., age 1. On the same census was a Polly HIGGINS, age 43 (Wes' mother?). She had property valued at $1000 was b. in TN. She had Robert, 13, James 11, John 9, Lafayette 7. We know that Wes later was in ARK, TX OK. Does anyone have access to land records that would indicate who her husband had been if she was a widow?

Looking for William BRUMFIELD and family listed in 1860 census as living in Daviess Co Mo at that time. Said to be a Union Army Captain during the Civil War and was killed in that war. Would like to find out what Regiment he was in and branch of service, also where he was buried.

Their child were: Ada Adella b. 5 Oct 1876 d. 3 Nov 1876 Amy Alberta b. 6 Aug 1877; Bertha May b. 8 May 1879 and Ella Susan b. 16 Oct 1880. Alexander's parents were JOHN W. WHITE and SUSAN FIELDS. My great great grandfather was Bluford VANDERPOOL, the son of Wynant and Nancy LINVILLE VANDERPOOL of Ray Co., Mo. Bluford m. Elizabeth J. STANTURF on May 4, 1853 in Mercer Co., Mo. They had 2 children, Delilah and Johb. Bluford was a private, Co., H. 51st Mo. Inf. Vol. in Civil War and contracted Consumption..probably TB. He died in Daviss Co. on April 15, 1867. In his civil war papers one man said he died at 'Diamon' and another said 'Cravensville.' Both towns must be gone as I am unable to locate either of them. Can anyone tell me where these towns were located in Daviss Co., if there are any old cemeteries left in those areas and if they've been catologed?

Looking for information on g-g-grandfather, William BRUMFIELD's date of death and where he is buried. Old obit only states Death: "Of Grandriver, Daviess Co. MO." Time period between 1860-1867. Also would like to know more on the family of ? Hobbs, the man William's widow, Elizabeth Jane BRUMFIELD, married sometime after William's death, and the date they were married. Thank you.
